"We
invited Lisa Cork to make the final presentation of the day. This
was a deliberate policy knowing the enthusiasm and content of
her presentation. Lisa did not disappoint us, holding the large
audience after a long day. The presentation was thought provoking
and gave participants her personal, in-depth views of new avenues
to pursue in their aim towards better marketing."
Dick
van der Zeijden, Bejo Zaden, Holland
"Lisa - As chairman of
the main session at this year's Snack Fruit
conference in Brisbane, I must congratulate you on your presentation.
Having
now heard you present on a number of occasions, I am particularly
impressed
with your ability to pitch your presentations so accurately to
the audience.
It is also refreshing to listen to someone who clearly researches
the
subject comprehensively and relates presentation to the material
delivered
by other speakers on the program."
A.B. Biggs, Australia
"Dear
Lisa - Thank you for speaking at the World Potato Congress. Many

Looking for
a speaker, but not sure what you need? The following ideas may help.
Keynote
Speech
Typically 45 minutes to 2 hours in length. Used to open a conference
(opening keynote) or close a conference (closing keynote). The objective
of a keynote presentation is to enthuse participants and deliver
a high impact, broad, theme related presentation. Keynotes can be
used at both industry conferences and in-house conferences.
Conference
Speaker / In-House Speaker
After an opening keynote, most conferences then move to speakers
with specific expertise. Conference and in-house speaker sessions
tend to be 25 minutes to 1.5 hours in length. Topics are usually
specific and reflect interest to the audience. Attendance can be
all participants or the conference may have concurrent speaker sessions
running where participants choose the topic of interest.
Seminars
/ Workshops
Seminars and workshops are different events than a conference. Typically,
companies use a seminar/workshop as a stand-alone event with a specific
objective and outcome. Seminars tend to be structured where the
speaker is doing most of the talking with limited audience involvement.
Workshops tend to be much more interactive, with participants playing
a strong, involved role. Seminar and workshop length varies from
one-hour courses to one-week courses.
Training
Training seminars are similar to the seminars noted above but are
outcome oriented and audience participation is high. Training is
used to educate and offer new methods/behaviors. Training seminars
can last from two hours to two weeks. A trainer may have a specific
set of material that they have developed and present. Some trainers
work with the company to develop customized, outcome oriented training
material.
Facilitation
Facilitation is unique in the sense that facilitation is guiding,
instructing and extracting information from a group of people and
formulating that information into an agreed upon outcome. Facilitation
is usually half-day to full day.
